The Golden Rule (Matthew 7:12)

Matthew 7:12 "In everything do to others as you would have them do to you; for this is the law and the prophets."

Luke 6:31 "Do to others as you would have them do to you."

"There was once a man who was traveling on dangerous roads. On the way he was attacked by robbers. They took his clothes, beat him up, and went off leaving him half-dead. Luckily, a pastor was on her way down the same road, but when she saw him she angled across to the other side. Then an elder in the pastor's church showed up; she also avoided the injured man.
But then a woman who had been disowned by the church came upon the man. When she saw the man's condition, her heart went out to him. She gave him first aid, disinfecting and bandaging his wounds. Then she lifted him onto his donkey, led him to an inn, and made him comfortable. In the morning she took out two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, 'Take good care of him. If it costs any more, put it on my bill—I'll pay you on my way back.'
.... Jesus said (to the religious people), "Go and do the same."
from Luke 10:25-37
